IAM CREST Pipeline Hazardous Material Worker Training

The Corporation for Re-Employment and Safety Training (CREST), is a 501 - (c)(5) non-profit organization sponsored by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) designed to provide job re-entry and safety training services.

C.R.E.S.T. has a mission to return injured workers to productive employment safely and promptly. C.R.E.S.T. also provides training in Safety Awareness, Accident/Injury Investigation, Ergonomics and Hazardous Materials Training. C.R.E.S.T. offers a partnership in the workplace so that workers and employers can work together for safety, efficiency, and productivity. 

On October 1, 2008, The Department of Transportation (DOT) Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA) awarded CREST funding for the Pipeline Hazardous Material Instructor Training grant to develop hazardous material instructor curriculum and a train the trainer training program for the Air Industry and extended to the Rail Industry in 2014. These trainers deliver training for hazardous materials workers as described in 49 CFR 171.8.

 

 

   

This material has been developed by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, Corporation for Re-Employment and Safety Training in cooperation through the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration grant funding for training workers who handle dangerous goods in the Railroad Industry.
